Sikika (formerly known as Youth Action Volunteers) is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in Tanzania in the year 2000. Sikika's overall vision is a Tanzania where healthy and responsible citizens enjoy equitable, affordable and quality health services as their basic right.
Sikika empowers citizens to smoothly interact with health service providers through enhancing active community engagement, transparency and accountability within the district health systems. Sikika also works with Parliament and key central Ministries to influence the national health plans and budgets. Sikika currently operates in Dar es Salaam and Kibaha – both based in the Coastal region of Tanzania.
