Sikika seeks to recruit the following candidates with immediate effect:
a) Head of Media and Communication Department
Key roles and responsibilities:
-
Co-ordinate Sikika’s communication activities and resources across a range of programmes and provide support to advocacy work.
-
Coordinate and manage timely production of the organisation’s communication tools such as newsletters, website, press releases, radio programs, notice board, radio station etc. and provide technical advice in developing and managing these tools.
-
Coordinate Sikika advocacy and knowledge sharing through TV and Radio stations
-
Assist in the production and dissemination of publications, which include briefs, books, posters, etc.
-
Oversee the documentation of all media work in both soft and hard copies.
-
Produce quarterly, mid-year and annual media progress reports.
-
Facilitate the engagement with media houses by making sure that press releases, articles and feature stories on Sikika's activities are published.
-
Make sure that reports come out with high quality design and ensure that the organization is up to date with advanced technologies.
-
Supervise department staff, set their performance standards, and appraise them according to these standards.
-
Edit all Sikika work before sending them for publication
-
Over see all activities of Sikika’s Community Radio and guide the expansion process of radio coverage.

Report to the Head of Programs and work as part of Sikika’s management team.
Desirable Skills and Competencies
-
Masters in Mass Communication or Journalism.
-
At least three years of proven experience in media work and experience in IT and designing.
-
Excellent writing and communication skills.
-
Strong editing skills
-
Proven leadership skills and team management experience
-
Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and documentation as well as experience in social media is an added advantage.
-
Produce evidence of various kinds of media work completed.
b) Accounts Assistant cumReceptionist – Dodoma Office
Responsibilities;
-
Collection of bank statements and preparations of bank reconciliation at the end of every month
-
Engage in preparation of payments for Dodoma transactions
-
Timely provision of financial information to Head quarter to facilitate preparation of reports
-
To maintain and update asset register on daily basis
-
To give update regarding state of cash
-
Stock count and maintenance of office items and vehicles
-
To ensure imprests are retired on time
-
Petty cash management
-
Keep custody of all accounting record with all supporting documents
-
Manage front desk operations
-
Provide Secretarial and administrative support to logistics
-
Track and organize all official correspondences
-
Ensure that the office runs smoothly, specifically make timely purchases of drinking water & stationery supplies in liaison with the Office Attendant
-
Coordinate printing & photocopying
-
Make travel, meeting and other arrangements for Staff
-
Collaboration with other Staff to ensure implementation of program strategy
-
Implement & adhere to lawful instructions by your immediate Supervisor and Executive Director.
Key competencies:(a) Minimum of Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration/.(b) At least three years experience in areas related to your responsibilities. (c) Excellent writing and communication skills. (d) Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (e) Experience working in an NGO will be an added advantage
c) Driver - Dodoma
Responsibilities;

Provides reliable and safe driving services to Sikika in all field visits
-
Keeping the vehicle clean all the time
-
Making sure that maintenances including service of the vehicles are done on time
-
Making sure the vehicle insurance covers and road safety and all required documents are available
-
Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip or tour of duty.

Any other duties assigned by your supervisors and the management
Key competencies:
Possession of Form IV Secondary Education, Valid driving license class C, a good knowledge of the Dodoma districts
d) Radio Manager for TIJA FM – Dodoma
Responsibilities;
-
To oversee each and every radio program aired by Tija FM
-
Supervise producer/presenters, Marketing officers and editors to make sure they produce quality programs.
-
Evaluates materials prior to broadcast for accuracy, quality and adherence to federal guidelines; maintains quality control of broadcast material.
-
Monitors broadcast traffic and logging activities and makes improvements when necessary to enhance programming format.
-
Participates in budget preparation and policy, procedures and goal setting for the radio station by estimating equipment needs, new technologies and evaluating current programs.
-
Analyzes the programming needs of the listening public and creates programs to serve needs; assigns staff producers to create programs.
-
Confers and participates with promotion and development departments in regard to special programs, events and fund raising activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Good experience of radio broadcasting. An experience in running community radio is a strong advantage
-
A high level of IT skills particularly in the field of digital editing and production
-
Ability to put in place income generating systems using advertising, fundraising, sponsorship and the implementation of grant aided projects
-
The ability to lead and manage a team of core staff and voluntary workers
-
A good knowledge of promotion and marketing techniques to raise TIJA FM profile
-
Knowledgeable on accounting systems
-
Ability to effectively communicate
-
Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles
-
Knowledge of broadcast rules, regulations and guidelines
